Aircraft validator

VAS ACARS includes an aircraft validator that can be used to check the compatibility of a specific aircraft add-on with VAS ACARS. This can be useful if you're experiencing issues with a specific aircraft in VAS ACARS.

To use the validator, follow these steps:

  1. Exit VAS ACARS if it's running.
  2. Start VAS ACARS and click on the settings icon in the top right corner. You should not log in.
  3. Click on Diagnostics in the settings menu.
  4. Click on Start and open the validator.
  5. This will open a page in your web browser where you can select the simulator connector to use. Unless asked otherwise, you should select the simulator connector that you use to fly with VAS ACARS. Click on Start next to the connector.
  6. The validator will now start and show the values that VAS ACARS reads from the simulator. Depending on the issue you are experiencing, you can check the status of that item in the validator. For example, if the navigation light is not working, you can check the status of the navigation light in the validator. It will update automatically, so please try to reproduce the issue in your simulator while the validator is running.

The validator contains both a "Data mode" and a "Checklist mode". The "Data mode" shows the values that VAS ACARS reads from the simulator, while the "Checklist mode" can be used to systematically check the status of different items in the simulator. Unless prompted otherwise, you should use the "Data mode".
